David A Russ, PhD

David A Russ, PhD is a licensed psychologist and health services provider. He began practicing in 1985. He specializes and limits his practice to helping individuals of any age with anxiety including; panic, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety, chronic worry, stress, phobias, separation anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other related issues. Dr. Russ is co-creator of an innovative and effective treatment program for children with anxiety called Turnaround. Dr. Russ is President, co-founder and a licensed Psychologist at Carolinas Counseling Group (CCG) in Charlotte, NC. Along with his partners, Dr. Russ has built a thriving clinical practice with 14 therapists. In 2012 CCG provided more than 17,000 hours of psychotherapy. He specializes in evidence-based treatment for children, teens and adults with anxiety disorders. Dr. David A. Russ received his PhD from Georgia State University in 1992. His dissertation was original research using directed writing as a treatment for anxiety. He has post-graduate training in treating OCD from the Behavior Therapy Training Institute held at the Mass General Hospital. He is a member of the IOCDF and ADAA.
